I have a 2013 fiat 500 pop, the daylights were not working when i got the car, so i changed both bulbs but still dont work, power is getting to the bulbs as thay are double filement one filliment works, checked the menu to activate them but all i get is a warning triangle on the dash, if i deactivate them them the warning triangle goes, all other lights work fine

any idears or shall i just live with it.

thanks for your suggestion John, but i have done all that but still dont work, as there is power to side lights and they work i can only think that the earth is ok. you say there are two live feeds is that one for each light.

john when you say pin 28 and pin 30 do you mean a F No i can only see F numbers on the fuses no mention of pin.

Right light drl feed is yellow black stripe(pin 30 at the passenger fuse box) left is green with yellow stripe(pin 28 fuse box) common earth for both left and right earthing point is near the bulkhead
i will check fuses in morning all of them, i dont have a garage and its bloody cold out there.

The pin number is the actual fuse box pin connection spec, on the rear for the connector, it will be hard to get to as the fuse box would need to be dropped down but it would allow you to see if there a switched feed going to the light cluster? Given that neither works I suspect either a fuse, or failure in say the BCM, also inspect the bulb holders and wiring(known to be really quite frail)

thanks for your help John, i checked all fuses in the car and under bonnet and all seamed fine, i will in the near future check the bulb holders, but as i said one filiment for side lights works so power must be getting there, somone suggested poss relay stuck i look into that as well, when i can find out which one.

well been out there for about 2 hours checked bulbs all seam fine, activated daylights in menu and as usual i get the triangle warning on the dash, no running daylights working, deactivated and away goes the warning sign, still not working, at a lost now think i just have to live with it not working.

I suspect half the reason there are only 2 of you discussing this..

We dont own 500's

Are you 100% sure they are the DRL's you are playing with....?

With 2 power supplies.. I would contemplate them being

'Cornering lights'

Only powered

1. With lights on
2. Steering at an angle

A photo here would save A LOT of guessing
;)

Not conering lights on the 500 as far as I'm aware
And the drls do have two power supply's one for the 5w sidle light fillment and one for the 21w DRL fillment

The DRL bulbs should be in the middle light unit the ones above the number plate light

The fog lights are at the side of the number plate if fitted

you may have to enlarge this up

No need fir a BCN, a simple Relay will do the job

That's what I was thinking, take a feed from say the lighter socket(on with the key) via a new fuse, and use a relay in the circuit switched via the side light circuit to cut the supply when the side lights are on?

If you use the diagram attached it does give the connections from the body computer to the lamps, both DRL lights are F069 and F070 pins 6 for supply and a common earth on pin 5 for all 3 lamps in the assembly.
It uses earth C010 which is the one just above the underbonnet fuse box. Although it’s probably not the issue if the other lamps work it may be worth giving it a clean. Not unusual for a high resistance earth to give odd results.
If it were me I’d then access the BCM (M001) and Check continuity from connector B of the BCM pins 28 and 29, also check if they both get powered when the DRLs are on are on. They are separate outputs to each lamp. Only the earth is visibly common to both.
All assuming the DRLs measure ok from the connectors on the lamps themselves.
