Hi Folks, I have a 2016 Fiat 500 Lounge and the handbrake needs adjustment however I am having difficulty removing the plastic housing surrounding the handbrake, previously models ie 2012 had a 10mm securing bolt securing this in place but i think this later model maybe all plastic clips and I dont want to be too forceful. Would appreciate some guidance. Thanks Stewart

Hi, the braking system/levers look to be operating as they should. I think the handbrake cable is slightly stretched so wanted to make a fine adjustment on the handbrake cable mechanism but the question is how to remove the housing around the handbrake itself ..its not the same as older models that had a 10mm nut securing the housing down. There are 2 cup holders inserted into the housing and I tried to remove this but looked like it may be glued in place. I think the housing itself is clipped in but just wanted to see if anyone had experience of removing this on 2016 model. Thanks

The bottom of the cupholders sometimes have bolts in them. Remove the rubber liner in base of cupholder.

Thanks ...that worked. I used 3 trim removal tools around the circumference of the cupholders otherwise they spring back and then mangaed to pull the cupholder unit section out exposing the retaining nut. All good ..thanks to all:)(y)
