Hi everyone, a little while back our passenger door handle hinge broke (exterior). A known fault, and one I intended to fix when other work needed doing. Unfortunately someone pulled the whole thing off and instead of a new hinge from Ebay I need a whole door handle.

But again, looking on Ebay, there are many adverts for a handle with the number 735592026, but when I check compatability with our 2008 1.3 MJD it comes back as "not compatable"?? Is this right, then what part number should I be looking for? Does it matter that we have a Lounge model?

Wished I'd done it earlier now and just needed to replace the hinge :D

It looks like part on.735592024 (recommended for 2008 312_(2007-2016 hatchback) 75hp MJD) is the left hand door handle, with barrel, for LHD versions. I think I'm going to risk buying 735592026 as ours is RHD and doesn't have the barrel. I'll get back to the site and let you know how I got on....(y)
 
The passenger door handle and drivers differ only in the lock cover. The piece that covers the passenger one doesn’t have the hole for the barrel but under that the hole is there.

There are plenty around for both sides new and used so you may as well just get the correct one.

I’m not sure that the passenger one would have the little clip in place that secures the barrel.
 
So bought a second hand handle on Ebay for £16 and fitted it. The part number was 735592026, which, according to most sellers on Ebay, doesnt fit a 2008 MJD..... but it does.

As I said before, I wished I'd sorted it earlier as I would of only needed the hinge instead of a whole handle, where one hinge fits all ;-)
