Hi all. I have just joined the club so please be kind :)
I have a Fiat 500 lounge 2012 with an unusual problem. When I put on the indicator to turn right, the indicator light flashes on and off as it should on the speedo, but the eml light and abs light flashes at the same time. Anyone else had this problem?

Common problem we have talked about a lot on here. Do a search but in a nutshell it’s a fault on the main circuit board. Over £250 To repair. It’s much easier and cheaper to source a used one on eBay. Make sure you get one with lower mileage than your car. Speedos can be upped but not reduced for obvious reasons.

You may possibly need a proxy alignment but usually they are plug and play.

yes i can fix it much cheaper, just send me a PM for more info....
buying another used instrument cluster is a gamble as these parts all tend to get faulty after aging….
after my repair it will last for many more years.
I can adjust the mileage to the Original value so that wouldn't be a problem….

I often have these problem. How much to fix?

My old Stilo clocks went AWOL in the post on the way to be fixed (I reckoned they weren't worth nicking so I didn't pay extra to track or insure them etc.) and so I ended up buying a replacement seconda-mano set to replace them...

It was just annoying at the time that the new clocks mileage was a) wrong and b) flashing, until I bought the gear to do a proxy alignment.

The second-hand clocks lasted about 3 weeks before they packed up in exactly the same way... (I thought maybe my car was killing clocks.. :D ) so I can confirm that second-hand clocks is a bit of a punt.

Yellowstilo fixed my replacement clocks and corrected the mileage. "Luckily" my car had about 50,000 miles more on it than the clocks did, and it's easier to add mileage to the clocks than removing it.. Yay! :D

The fix - ~3 years? and about 75,000 miles ago - still working perfectly.

If you repair your own clocks, youwon't have to worry about correcting the mileage or proxy-aligning the clocks to the car afterwards (as you would with a replacement)

If you factor in buying the gear and sorting the proxy alignment on top of the price of the new clocks, it's actually probably cheaper to have yours fixed, as well as being a less hassle solution.

And another thing (I need to get this off my chest :ROFLMAO:) - my car failed its MOT this year because the ABS light didn't come on. It used to (old clocks) and I didn't notice that it didn't on the new clocks.

The MOT since last May is a bit more nosey and now checks this, so my car failed.

When I took the clocks out (the ones not originally from my car) to have a look at the "bulb" (it's an LED so can't be changed) - I discovered the previous owner has stuffed a load of tissue in the ABS light port Ahhhh Ahhhh - presumably to cover up an ABS fault in his car (the old MOT test only checked that the light didn't stay lit).

I was quite bemused (translated: I went through my entire vocabulary of swear words). :D

Use your clocks.. nobody f***ed with them... :D

Can anyone shed some light on what needs to be replaced on the mainboard to fix this? I'll be replacing mine with the tft version so will have the broken one on the bench this weekend. Thanks
