good afternoon all,

after some advice/help a little while back I lost my Bluetooth functionality in my fiat 500 2013. at the same time my odometer was flashing tried unplugging the battery etc to stop this from happening again nothing worked, then if I left my car for longer than 48 hours without starting I would come to start the car and the battery would just be dead, anyway sent to an auto electrician who worked out that the blue and me module was faulty and drawing on the battery even when the ignition was off.

they advised me that it was situated below the rear speaker.

at the time they got a price from Main dealer for a replacement part that was ridiculous so I decided for them to just take out which fixed the dead battery every two days but not the flashing odometer.

if the part is not replaced and I pay for a proxy alignment would this fix the issue of the flashing odometer?

if this would not fix the issue due to the missing part does anyone know where I can pick up a second hand replacement and is there a step by step guide of getting access to it?

I am in Portsmouth so if anyone is local and has the proxy alignment equipment please let me know!

thanks in advance

Don’t panic you have come to the right place .... I’ve scoured eBay and come up with this 293260083125 not sure how to set a link but this is the item no...... wait for typecastboy to give you his thoughts ...... he or someone will advise you what to do

Loads of them on eBay. I’m about to do one next week which I have bought not knowing what is in the car that has a duff one.

It is in the near side rear quarter under the speaker. You need to take out the rear seat pad, undo the screws on the kick panel where the front bit meets the back bit. Pull the front bit up out of the way. Pull the rubber door seal out of the way and remove the top seatbelt mount. Detach the seatbelt from the pretensioner by putting a cross blade screwdriver in the slot where it plugs in and turn it. It will pop off. You then need to take the cream trim off which was under the top seatbelt mount and then pull the rear panel off. It is only held in with lugs now.

If there is enough room that might do it but if you need to remove the panel entirely you now need to take the rear shelf support off (one screw under the support) and then the other screw where the cream panel joins the grey one. Lastly remove the one bolt at the bottom of the rear panel. Be careful with this as this bolt goes to the outside world and has a habit of either sheering off when removing or not screwing back up. If you can bend the panel out of the way that would be better.

The blue and me module is mounted into a cage which is held in with three rivets. You will have to drill these out to remove it. Remove the plug and fit the new one. Before you do any of this remove the negative battery terminal. It’s now worth testing it to make sure the new one works. Plug it in, revsttsch the battery earth and give it a try. You will have flashing mileage but it should still work. A proxy alignment will take care of the flashing mileage.

If it works, just put it all back together.

There where not too many blue and me models as they fitted the same modules to all the cars across the range, so a punto one from the same year should be the same as a 500 or a panda.

There were as I understand it, 3 different blue and me modules which where 2 early ones as the ducato vans and the cars, then after 2010/11 one module that covered all blue and me 2 cars

I am having big problems here with blue and me.

It doesn’t work and I’ve put a new one in but that doesn’t either. MES isn’t seeing it. Says it’s not connected. I’ve read somewhere about fuse 51 but that’s ok. Can’t find any specific reference in Haynes or elsewhere as to a possible fuse location. I don’t know whether power is getting to it or not but a fuse seems an obvious thing. Any ideas?

Will start a new thread too.
