Hi all,

Daughters gearbox linkage popped off last night at the selector fork ball joint- great getting pi553d wet through at 1100hrs getting it on and back home!!!!

Anyway had anyone found a bush repair kit for this or am I stuffed to buying the whole linkage?

Will the Ford ka repair kit work - part 1619959?

How easy to fix the full linkage at home- got jacks and support s

Any help greatly appreciated on this

Cheers

Cheers , was hoping he may have done.

So far can only source new linkage at £140.00!!!!

There must be another way to do this

Looking at a clip or “bodge” to get a temp fix in interim

Can say this car is driving me nuts of late- new sump, exhaust, clutch kit.......hey-ho . All things I expected when I read the forum before I bought one for her.

Cheers

At least parts are cheap?

Eh up,

Just an update fabricated a bodge from some alloy I had clamped the bl006y thing down while I figure out what to do next.

Cheers all

This is the original part for the selector link, with the number you can probably find it. Cost around 20. Axel Augustin is a fiat spare part dealer.

"AG Automotive Kugelpfanne Zugdraht Schaltung 10mm Gewinde M6 55245287"

Btw, just looking at the parameters - the ball joint from a typical boot damper has the same data (10mm ball opening, 6mm thread) and may be left over somewhere on a worn damper...

It is a bodge but the one time I did it about three years later and it’s still fine. I’m assuming that the ball has separated from the socket? I took the thing off and superglued the two bits together, left it an hour and put back together. It’s been fine ever since. Probably a better glue would be better but it’s done the job.

Thanks for that

Cheers for the reply

For anyone else I managed to get a repair kit from www.gearcableclipss.com, talked to them yesterday and they do a great repair kit in stainless, costs £20.00, well engineered and arrived this morning. Really helpful company. Fit it today after removing my bodge and worked a treat. No slack and positive shift.

Hope this helps someone else out.

Thanks everyone for feedback

I might invest in one of those for future reference.
