Still learning about Rasputin, the Younger Mrs S's new/seconda-mano 1.2 Pop.

The S/S thing she likes. When she stalls the car, it starts again as soon as she puts the clutch in.

But last time I was out, I noticed that the S/S wasn't actually stopping the car. I thought it was fine but it turns out that was the Younger Mrs S. stalling it..

I know there's a long list of reasons it might not want to cut the engine but the beast seems to meet all the criteria.. battery is charged, temperature is good, it's been driving for a while. What's the one I've forgotten about?

How old is the charged battery? if its over 3 years it may struggle is the sensor on the battery clamp?
How old is the engine earth strap?

The battery is all black so it may well be the original (2013) but I dunno for sure, without a proper look at it.

Aye, there's a sensor on the battery clamp. The beast has a separate post arrangement with another lead that clips onto it, which is where I'm supposed to charge it from, if my memory of the handbook is correct.

Earth strap is presumably the original one, since it all looks original but good condition in the engine bay.

I might just give the beast a long charge. The Younger Mrs S. only uses the car once a week for an hour or two at the moment and there's no hint of the battery being "flat", but it could probably use a few more amp hours of charge.

The battery will have a date stamp if the earth is original it's time to change ours looked ok but wasn't.
