Hello! Can anyone help with me with my lovely 2011 Fiat 500 Twin Air Lounge which starts but has no revs whatsoever?

Been to local garage who changed a 'boost pipe' after 'smoke test showed leak' (?) and then over to a specialist Fiat garage who have changed ECU, Throttle Pedal, checked engine wiring and battery - they mentioned having her back up and running at one stage but once she sat overnight they couldn't get the revs back again.

If we leave her a couple of days she'll rev a couple of minutes until warm(ish), but then accelerator can be pressed to the floor and there's zero movement on the rev counter. Just seems as though something is telling her (sensor?) that she must stop!

Warning on dash says engine error and no start stop but not sure if that's just because she's unhappy.

Desperate for any suggestions on mending this little lady as we can't be sure spending a fortune with main dealer will cure her, but also don't want to scrap her as we just feel it's something fixable since she runs - albeit won't move!!! Am I being too optimistic? Can anyone shed light on this?

Thanks so much for reading and for any suggestions x(y)

Well sounds like a throttle position sensor issue. If it were me, the first thing I would do is remove the air cleaner and get someone to press the accelerator while I watched to see if anything is happening when looking down the throttle body. You should be able to see the throttle butterfly move as the pedal is depressed. If it does so then it may be a fuel supply issue. This one may be one to get a dealer to diagnose. Their equipment is more comprehensive than anything else. Due to the ECU and loads of sensors there are a quite few things that can be involved. If required you should be able to get a second hand throttle body. It could be something as daft as the throttle body needing a clean, or a wire off somewhere. Have you also checked that the fuel lines are not bent crushed or blocked? Good luck
