So from my previous post i have fixed the canbus issue, but now the car (new to me) will still not start.

I had P1524 spark plug fouling, which i have replaced, and now have no fault codes.

Car is cranking, Plugs are sparking and the cylinders seem to have fuel being injected (when cranked without plugs in).

Car sounds like it has compression but the car doesnt fire....

SO if i have spark, fuel, then compression and air are all thats left..

spray down the intake seems to linger rather than being drawn in, so I am wondering if the uniair unit is faulty? can it fail on both inlet cams?

when cranking it seems as if compression is winding up or something. bit hard to explain but it sounds like resistance is greater at the end of the cranking period from 3-4 seconds on..

ok so there is a major engine failure going on here..... strip down is required..

Thanks for the link. I had read that and looked into that line of inquiry. It turns out to have had either a massive failure to a waterway or has overheated spectacularly, coolant was entering the cylinders, and after 4 or 5 cranks it blew out of the clear tank... Its off to a new home now. too much work in it, it required bodywork etc..

not to further people recieving P1524 - it seems in some instances this can be oil pressure related, and in my case was definiately duel to spark plugs shorting out.
