Im new to this site and would like to find someone who could help me with my problem I have a 1962 fiat 600 that won't shift in to 3rd gear

The 600 had the 903cc pushrod engine, didn't it? Or at least a smaller capacity version of the same beast.. so anyone with a 903cc 127 or Uno will have the same motore.

Usually a sticky gearbox is either a selector problem or a clutch problem.

Clutch will doubtless be cable... so check it's properly adjusted first.

Selectors often have plastic or nylon bushes... so if yours have been on there a while (maybe since 1962?) the plastic might have become brittle and started to break up.

Pop the connectors off the 'box and see whether the lever and cables (rods?) move freely with no gearbox on the end of them.. and whether the gears change "manually" (i.e. direct movement on the gearbox levers, rather than via the gear lever/cables). That will point you to where the problem lies... but my guess is the selector bushes. Greasing them to buggeration might solve it.
