Hi all,

New to this forum. My wife has a 2016 500 1.2 pop star... had it about a year, great car, we both love it and fight over it especially at weekends...

I noticed today that the temperature control knob does not turn all the way anti clockwise to the fully cold setting... it is plenty cold where it does get to (with aircon on) it stops about 30 degrees short. Any ideas why it doesn’t turn the whole way?

Other recent issues, the air box is a poor fit on the inlet manifold, it can pop off the rear grommet quite easily... fixed with a tie wrap... common problem? Only noticed as it ran rough occasionally.

Finally, when accelerating and changing from 1st to 2nd there is a buzzy noise from engine bay, I thought it might be a loose heat shield but everything is secure... any ideas?

Cheers

The heater panel may have been taken off for some reason and the knobs not lined up properly when it was put back on. Turn everything as far as it will go to the left. Then prise the panel off. It can be stubborn but will come off eventually. Then turn all the dials to the far left and put it firmly back on.

Never heard of the airbox coming off the peg but is it the two bolts that hold it down that are loose, it could be those that are vibrating or the air inlet that is screwed to the front panel. I’ve had those come loose before,

How far right does it go, past hot?
Air box you need to give it a good push down on the rear ashes it can be loose if not pushed down on the first place I found.

Doesn’t go past highest setting just stops 30 degree short of coldest....

Might try that this weekend.
The two bolts are tight but the peg fitting is poor, I’ve secured with a tie wrap but it still moves a bit (only a mm or so)
