Hi everyone - new on here...
My daughter recently bought a 2011 fiat 500 - I cant get the Bluetooth to work there is a button on the steering wheel that looks like a windows symbol anyway it doesn't do anything - I have read the manual and done what it says.

The other thing is the mileage keeps flashing for some reason.

I am completely new to Fiats so not a clue regarding the blue & me

Any pointers/advice would be very welcome

Thanks

Welcome, the flashing mileage indicates the various ECU's not talking to one another, and may need "proxy alignment" you could try disconnecting the battery for a while and re connecting, on that, if the battery is in any way suspect, replace it and talking electrical you'll probably need a new engine earth strap, cheap and simple to replace.

Bluetooth a constant gripe especially if you have a I phone

Thanks John

Will the radio need a code if the battery is disconnected?
Any idea how much the proxy alignment is likely to cost?

Radio doesn't "usually" need a code but will have originally come with one, if there is a forum member near you they maybe able to help if they have MES software re the flashing, this can happen if the battery is poor, eg. the car has stood for some time or been started many times and not driven much say at a garage, try the battery off trick first, there's a quick disconnect on the negative post, no tools needed. Clock will need resetting and the option to turn on/off the DRLs is in the same menu just scroll the options.

The car has day running lights, are they switched on? if not you'll almost certainly need two new bulbs, lazy people just turn them off rather than replace a bulb and its better to have them on. https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4...hting/lighting1/car-bulb/?481770919&0&cc5_401

Show your daughter this picture on how to place the petrol cap when filling up, not scratching the paintwork. Be prepared to flex the spanners, there are things that fail early and will need fixing, parts are cheap and jobs are fine for a diy person with some knowledge of cars.

You won’t need a code if you disconnect the battery. The blue and me has lost contact with the body computer hence the flashing mileage.

A proxy alignment will reconnect it as long as it’s not faulty. If you have someone nearby who has MES I’m sure someone will do it for you. Otherwise it’s a trip to Fiat dealers.
