We have a 2012 Fiat 500 that has had its rear bumper replaced. The replacement bumper is from the newer model and only has 3 parking sensors. Our control unit is for 4 sensors (as the 2012 bumper had 4...) The dash is saying parking help unavailable. All the 3 sensors are working (can hear clicking) but there is a 4th lead unconnected. I'm guessing the controller isn't working as it needs the 4th sensor lead to be attached?

Is there any way of getting around this? Tricking the control unit so the 3 present sensors will work with the current control unit?

Thanks

I put a third party one in a 500 that came with 4 sensors and the bumper had 3 holes so I just left it out and it worked perfectly. It wasn’t a fiat one but I would have thought that it would be the same.

If not then it might be worth drilling a hole and using it.
