Eh up all,

For those who are aware i bought a 500 for my daughter back in November and its throwing up regular issues - all known so far !:bang:

Ive already replaced the drivers door hinge part as this broke in December.

Now ....the passenger handle is worrying me - its "sticking/slow" at the lock side NOT the hinge end?

so when you open it the mechanism fails to "snap shut" , im concerned its on its way out but before i replace is it worth a shot of lube ?

Otherwise if its a new handle any recommendations do i go for Fiat OEM at £30.00 of ebay or spurious or a used one? Any views before i (rephrase make my daughter) cough up the cash.(y)

As always any help appreciated.

Not done the drive shaft seal yet as too wet and cold - its just a weep still so will limp it on until Feb / Mar - im getting too old for this lark:)

cheers all

I’ve changed quite a few handles. Sometimes the nut that holds the hinge end is too tight and causes tension pulling the handle out a bit. Loosening it a bit can often release the tension allowing it to snap back.

The OEM ones from Shop4parts are good quality if you decide to fork out £30 . Passenger ones are much easier to change than drivers due to just the one rod.

Typecastboy,

Cheers for that - will try first and see what happens easy enough to strip out now ive done one.

will take your advice and opt for a oem through shoppart (y)

All,

Well I tinkered with the handle over the weekend and squirted wd40 into the latch mech. Then loaded with lubricant spray. After a soak overnight works at treat. Will keep any eye on it though.

Worth a try before forking out!

Cheers all
