Hi guys

I drive a 2013 fiat 500, done roughly 30000 miles
For the last while I’ve noticed it shaking when I’m stopped at traffic lights, sometimes it’s not so bad and other times really noticeable
I got the spark plugs replaced at its last mot.
Does anyone have any idea what this problem might be or had a problem similar?
I think the car is due a new timining belt, fiat recommend it every 5 years and it’s over due but could it something else? ?

Hldr :)

Ever had a warning light on the dashboard?

It does sound as if it is not running evenly on all 4 cylinders.

Idea:

Have a quick look at the engine ..
under the black plastic airbox are the 4 spark plugs. Towards the rear ;)

Lift the bonnet with the engine running.. in a dimly lit area .

Be Careful you do not touch anything hot or moving.

look for blue flashes .. and a crackling noise
From near the spark plugs.

You no not have to be leaning over.. it will be obvious if there is Electrical Arcing ;)

30,000 isn't a huge mileage... but if the beast is running okay and just vibrates at idle and while you're pulling away, as well as the advice above, you could alternatively have a duff engine- or gearbox-mount.

If you're taking it somewhere to be serviced soon (to get that cam-belt replaced.... :) ) get them to check the mounts.
