Hello all!

I broke the plastic pieces that hold the wiper blade, so ordered a new arm from fleabay (dealer was asking £45...). I thought this would be a simple job as it’s just held by a nut. I’ve done that but now the wiper doesn’t want to move, I can hear the motor working but it’s as though the arm is now too heavy to move. Any help on this? I’m thinking that as it’s a new arm, the spring that ‘pushes’ the blade on the glass is too taught and is putting to much force hence the motor hasn’t got sufficient power to move it.

Am I missing something?! Thanks for any helpful advice!

Car is a 14 plate 500.

Found the issue, the new wiper arm has no ‘ridges’ where it’s attached to the shaft, and is smooth. Hence it just slips when the shaft rotates, it’s going back !
