looking for some all season tyres for my 1.2 500.
I was intending to stick some cross climates on, and then spotted bridgestone A005 s which seem like a good option too, but both blackcircles and mytyres are only listing XL tyres in the size I need. So far as I understand these are primarily used for vans and have stiffer sidewalls. Does anyone have these and have they made the ride harder? I guess they might enhance turn in??

grateful for feedback

I would probably just stick some uniroyal rainsports on, but they are only a few pounds cheaper these days, I spend a lot of time out and about in the wilds of northumberland with regular trips to east anglia.
Additionally, the daily mail said we are expecting 4 months of snowmageddon this winter - they usually reports such things accurately, with no hyperbole what so ever.....

When looking for some replacement 16” tyres for ours I struggled to find anything that wasn’t XL - many cars have them now but the actual load ratings vary there is usually a number from say 82 to 98 which really says how strong the tyres are, our Ford S Max has to have XL tyres but must be 98 rating as it’s so heavy.

What you find with an XL tyre is the sidewall is a bit stiffer reducing ride comfort, in the end I managed to get some standard load tyres and they have been great. I really would recommend Cross Climates if you don’t want to go the whole Hogg and get a separate set of full winter tyres, they are nearly as good as summer tyres in the summer but twice as good at least as summer ones when the winter comes. I wouldn’t worry if yiu can only get XL In them, our 500 originally came with XL summer tyres from new.
