Hello everyone!

I have been searching everywhere online for an answer to this with no luck. I was replacing my stop lamps on my 2012 Fiat 500 and one of my kids was messing with the latch. Now it’s stuck and I cannot shut my hatch door. I can’t find anywhere that I can release the latch. Can anyone help??

Picture of what I am referring to

Generally..

It is just open..or closed..

And is operated by a steel rod on the back of it.

I suspect it is just latched shut :(

So.. find a way of opening it.. could be the boot release badge button is DEAD..

But the key fob should still do it ;)

TBH. Look in the 500 section..
As its quiet in here..

IF.. you need to remove the tailgates inner trim.

Member typecastboy could probably provide valusble insights

Stick a screwdriver in the "hole" where the fixed boot latch would sit( the lock part in your picture) when closed and see if you can pull the latch to its open position? It could simply be its in its latched position but not locked position?
