If you have the above codes and an EML on the dash..............................
Firstly a 500 1.2 8V petrol has a MAP sensor and not a MAF.

My car having bouncing revs at idle and driving results in multiple sudden loss of power as well as many restarts to get back home, this is what i did.

The Map sensor has integral temp sensing and an electrical test proved that it was faulty so i replaced it. I was then left with the more generic code P0101
code to diagnose. I checked all vac hoses and a smoke test down the small breather hose showed up a badly leaking inlet manifold gasket.
The gasket consists of 4 rubber O rings £38 from FIAT.
The car is out of intensive car and running very well again.

I hope that the above may help others to not waste time and money.

Fiat 500 - 1.2s, 2014 - 19500 Miles

Hi, I got a limp mode and an engine warning light a couple of months ago Ran Multiecuscan and got code P0106-27 Intake pressure sensor, took the Map sensor out and cleaned it, P0106 error came back 2 weeks later, cleaned again, came back in another 2 weeks. Replaced the Map Sensor with another new bosch one, error came back 2 weeks later but with code P0101-62 Intake Manifold Air Seepage as well.

How do you test the Map Sensor, Also do you know if you can analyse the error with Multiecuscan, to get the information on why its has gave a code.

Thanks

Hi sorry to revive the thread did you manage to get this issue fixed as im having the same issue? thanks

Revived again 😀.

Any clues for this ? P0101 , P0106 downloaded, sometimes clears then randomly re-occur with all the other dash faults:

  1. EML
  2. Start stop de-activated
  3. Hill holder not available
  4. other I can't recall.......ABS I think

Yes often caused by faulty evap canister solenoid operated purge valve(in engine bay connected to blue plastic tubes)
Causing p0106 - 27
And or
p0101 - 62

Or if using basic code reader p0101
And or p0106

Leading people to look for faulty maf sensor on vehicles without maf sensor fitted at all.

Yes just a basic code reader used. (Torque app) I'll have a look for it, hopefully there's one on the 1.2 engine. Thanks Jack

Where is this located on the 1.2 engine?, I see the or maybe another blue pipe, that attaches just under the throttle body, and the the other end of the blue pipe disappears under the brake servo !?

Hi, Sorry just saw your post.
Yes the evap solenoid valve is fitted in the inlet manifold blue pipe in photo is connected to evap valve.
Electrical Connector below blue pipe at inlet valve is connected to evap solenoid valve.

Apologies for the hijacking of the thread, but is the fault the solenoid in the manifold or the canister?
Thanks.

Hi All

My partner has a fiat 500 I'm trying to help sort

My OBD reader flags up a P106 alongside the dash stating start stop and hill assist is deactivated

appreciate any clues as it looks very similar to what is being tackled here

Should I change the brake switch or be hunting around the evap canister solonoid?

regards

The evap/purge solenoid as stated earlier in the thread is an easy one to rule out by disconnecting the pipe and blocking the port on the valve.

What should I expect to change if I do this? No change = faulty solenoid/valve engine idle worsens = valve is OK?

Thanks
