Has anyone had any luck with fitting a detachable towbar to a 2013 500S model not the standard variety 500.

According to the Westfalia (who I believe manufacture the genuine Fiat item) and the Fiat website their detachable towbar's don't fit Abarth AND 500S models. I'm assuming it's because the towbar doesn't fit under the more sporty bumper. Can anyone confirm?

I've got a Thule towbar mounted bike rack that I used to use to mount my old Raleigh RC3000 road bike onto my old Alfa 147. I haven't been able to go cycling because I'm battling to find a towbar that fits my new 500S:mad:

I would imagine you can make a towbar fit, but you’d have to cut big chunks of your back bumper out.

Alternatively buy a normal 500 rear bumper and put that on when you want to use the tow bar? Fiat bumpers are normally pretty easy to take off and put back on.

Getting a towbar from the states will break the bank a bit. The bike it's self only cost me about 80 pound (it's very second hand) so it seems a bit silly to go mad on a towbar.

I may try and find a bike rack that fits my Alfa Spider V6 or just get the normal Fiat towbar for my significant others 1.2 Pop.

She's not adverse to the idea after a silly cow eating her curry ran into the back of it with her Range Rover Sport. If all else fails I'll see if I can squeeze the bike into the back with the seats folded down.
