PLEASE HELP!

I've had a USB in my Fiat 500 for a short while now but I've come to realise that it's only playing around 200 of the 1800 songs that are stored! The car won't seem to even read the others.

It's got nothing to do with format as the songs it will play are a mixture of MP3 and WMA. I've tried ticking and unticking the archive box on properties but that doesn't seem to do anything either. The stick is on FAT23 and the quick format box is ticked.

I'm completely out of ideas so if anyone knows of a way that I can fix this, please do let me know! Thanks :)

Thanks for your reply :)

It’s a 64G memory stick but my car is one of the newer 500s (2017) And there’s only 7G of music on there so if there was a problem with size I feel it should still play?

Are they all in the root directory? I'm sure I read somewhere that there is a 256 file limit per folder. You might need to split the files into groups of 256 and place them into separate folders, then switch between the folders.
Also, file name length has been mentioned as an issue in the past - can't remember the max length but might also be worth looking into ie "Marilyn Manson - Holy Wood (In The Shadow Of The Valley Of Death) - 07 - In The Shadow Of The Valley Of Death.mp3" probably won't work ... but "07 - In The Shadow Of The Valley Of Death.mp3" would.

Thanks chris3234 I'll try that :)
Eklipze3k - they are all in the root directory now but before they were all in folders. I took them out incase that was the problem. I'll have a go at separating them into folders with under 250 songs in with short names. I've never known such a fussy music system lol. Why couldn't Fiat just put a regular MP3 player in their cars??? Bring back the CD player!!
