Technical Gearboxe oil level check 1.3

Having noticed an occasional noise in reverse latley a grumble sort of like something rubbing)grating

Decided to check under the car and there's seems to be a lot oil/grease under the car especially on the gearbox so cleaned it all up and will. Check it again in a week or so


As as a precaution want to check the gearbox oil level it's a case of remove battery and battery tray I think reading other threads anyone confirm?

edit sort of : its looks like its actually on the front of the box and can be accesed from underneth

If anyone is interested got it sorted in the end was down. A bit ended up draining bthe box and refilling with 75-90 gl4 oil comma brand

There is no dip stick or such to measure the level in these gear boxes, all you can do it open the fill plug and put in more fluid till it runs out.

If you doing that you might as well drain off the old fluid first and refill with new, so basically you've done what anyone would suggest.

Been fine since oil was likely from the road something then had been driven over/through at some point covering everything
