Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me with an ABS problem, sorry if it has been covered before but couldn't find anything similar.

My car is a 59 plate Fiat 500 1.2, discs on the front drums on the back, anyway I've noticed that sometimes, not always, when pulling up to a junction slowly I can feel the ABS kicking in through the brake pedal. There are no warning lights on the dash and while driving normally the car brakes as it should.

I'm thinking maybe a broken ABS ring? I haven't had the chance to check anything yet, but wondered if anyone has experienced this problem before and what did they do to solve it.

Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thank you all for your replies, come to think of it yes it does happen the first time I brake after starting the car.

I never would've guessed it was a self test I thought it was an ABS ring or sensor problem for sure.

Thank you again for all your replies much appreciated and mind now at rest.
