Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Does your car have the dash-top socket fitted? It looks like the attached.

If so you could fit the dedicated Blue&Me TomTom satnav (expensive new, but you might get one second-hand) or pick up the 68R bracket itself (also pictured) and adapt to another type of satnav.

Cheapest option would be to just get the satnav of your choice and stick it on the windscreen.

Cheaper still if you've got a smartphone - clip it to the dash and use an app such as Waze or Google Maps.

There's some police confusion over whether a phone can be mounted "in the sight of the driver" ,some cases where people have been done for 'using' a mobile phone whilst driving even though it's not touched , just thought I would add saw the article in the paper two weeks ago.

Mobile phone, or rather hand held mobile device is quite legal if it’s in a holder. You cannot be prosecuted under that legislation as long as it’s not in your hand. If you are over-using it in a holder, I.e. texting while driving you could be prosecuted for driving without due care and attention. Answering calls, using a sat nav is perfectly legal as long as the phone is in a holder.

This is exactly what the article was saying "using" as a generalisation implies use, therefore prosecution, that's why there's confusion?

I have just picked up a 500 with this on dashboard. Is eBay the cheapest place for the attachment and sat nav?
