This really belongs in the classifieds, but you've made so many useful contributions to the forum that I'll turn a blind eye for now.

But if this degenerates into a 'for sale & wanted' thread, it'll have to be moved on.

I do hope you won't lose money on this one. Out of interest, what's putting you off returning it to the road?

Yeah sorry, just thought I would see if anyone needed any bits cheap. I will advertise in the classifieds should I do it.

It was just too much work in the end. I bought the cut out metal from club500 required but it was such a fiddly job around brake lines and suspension as well as cutting out at the rear of the chassis leg as well as it being damn cold out there, I thought I would let someone else have a go. Hoping to break even on it.

Someone in the Catford/Beckenham area will probably need a front bumper assembly etc in the not too distant future!

just stumbled on this typecastboy- any chance of the front wing fixing springclip I posted about earlier- I realise its a tiny part but i'd like to finish my repair properly if I can- obviously I'll pay you for it

It looks like I’ve sold it as is, assuming payment is made tomorrow, however I’ll have a look, I might have one. Is it the whole nut and bolt with spring clip or just the spring clip you need?

Here’s the bit you want. Its red if you want it. Make a small donation to the Forum and PM me your address and it’s yours.

That's a kind and thoughtful gesture. On behalf of the forum, many thanks.

Twayblades - the donation thread is at the end of the first section of the main page; I've put a link to it here.

As well as getting you @typecastboy 's fastener, donating will also get you 10% off anything you buy at shop4parts.

And this thread has become a shining example of why forum rules like "no advertising in the main part of the forum" should be applied with a touch of moderator discretion :). (btw that's not an invitation to anyone to post ads in the wrong place!)

Many thanks to typecastboy. I have made a donation to the Forum as requested.

It would be interesting to know if anyone else has had the same problem sourcing this fastener- the Fiat dealer I visited initially told me it came with the
replacement wing, but if you use a pattern part that's not the case and hence the problem. From what I have been able to find out its a- Tinnerman type rear mounting bolt retaining clip!- I could not find a UK stockist

Your help is much appreciated

I have started breaking this car today. It’s quite satisfying being able to cut wires instead of unplug them [emoji3]

While you are cutting away, can you look at the wire that goes to the horn and if the wire that comes off the same loom with the plug goes anywhere or is just there for an accessory? Just to put my mind at rest? ps fitted that ecu today and all the warning lights disappeared. Mileage and time still flash, but hopefully a proxy reset will sort that? cheers Jon

I’ll send you a photo but the only wires in there are the two airbag wires and the wires from steering wheel controls that have a reddish type connection.

And so, the car is dead, long live the car!!!

Taken away this morning by a scrap yard, for the princely sum of £40.

Everything that was of any use and/or saleable has been removed.

Quite sad to see it go in that state when it could have been repaired.

I'm now curious about the car in the back of the shot. When did you get that and what does it need?

The one at the back is a 2012 Lounge. All it needs is what you can see in the picture. Bonnet, bumper, wing, headlight and DRL, front panel. Rad is holding water and air con seems to work so as long as they’re not bent I’ll be reusing those.

Sold my latest Cat D today to my next door neighbour. His aunt who lives up the road bought one a year ago.

Had a bit of a nightmare this morning with this one. Took out the ecu, ignition switch which broke, petrol cap but couldn’t figure out how the fuse box/ECU under the passenger dash came out so I left that. Was in the process of cutting out the drivers inner wing when the scrap lorry turned up. He couldn’t get down the road because his double decker truck had cars on top and there were trees in the way. I suggested we push it up the drive and push it up the road to his truck, then realised the steering lock was on. After 10 minutes fiddling I managed to get it to engage the steering lock and we pushed it. 2 gone in one day. The drive is looking empty with just one 500 on it.

Enjoy new project. You got panels in right colour? Ps your mailbox full.
