Technical Alarms for Fiat 500?

Sorry to resurrect this thread. But just picked up a 68 plate A595. I'm also looking for the can-bus Mopar alarm to keep it as stock as possible. Any idea what model or P/N it was that you had installed?
I recently fitted the fiat stock alarm and it works a treat
I could only get it on eBay and from Italy here .. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Burglar-...=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=724-127637-2357-0 it’s the meta system.. works with original remote and it’s a bargain.. the stealerships wanted over £200 for this!

You absolute legend! I ordered two (one more for daughters 1.2 lounge with Abarth interior I picked up for a steal)..... Did you fit yourself? Any issues? Looks like photo has some bare wires that I guess need to hook up somewhere?

Fitting was easy once I’d got my head around the instructions ? I do have notes that I made (wire colours) so when your getting to fitting give me a shout
The kit comes with wire taps that work very well as long as you use pliers also comes with Bonnet protection
I can be a bit dense when studying instructions but once it’s in … it’s in? but you may just find it straightforward
As for placement of the alarm module the instructions are for LHD so I placed it RH and extended a wire to the fuse box area
Anyway give me a shout if you need troubleshooting

Mine finally arrived at the end of last week. Out of curiosity I've asked the local Abarth dealer to quote for fitting. I did have a quick look and didn't think it would be that difficult.... finding the time though might be!

Just put in an order for one of these too...

A car breaker I was chatting to the other day put the wind up me a bit about 500 security (seemingly it's not too hard for a thief to hack the ecu and bypass the built-in immo), and the detail he was going into was a bit scary, especially as I'd just given him my home address for sending a part to 🙀

So aside from quickly dropping into the conversation that my car's basically built from scrap, I'm planning to stick one of these alarms in, plus a keypad immobilizer I'm ordering from the USA. I know keypad immos are ancient tech nowadays, but it means even if someone steals your keys they still can't drive the car away.

From the pic it appears these alarms come with a little round 'plipper'. Do you have to use this, or does it totally integrate with the central locking system, @Baglady1990 ?

The alarm integrates with the ecu so works with original fob
I guess the fob supplied is a spare? Comes with a code card too
I found the spare fob useful to test the alarm as you can activate the alarm with it without locking the car
I’ve no idea how you code the spare fob to the car but I don’t need to so no point!

Hahaha and you wonder why their nickname is stealership!
This is why I researched had a poke about in car .. researched … checked & double checked and finally fitted!

At the moment the things that have me scratching my head are the exact placement of the sensors. I haven't had a dry run yet, but are there specific bits these line up with or is it a free for all? Some photos of these in place would be great to get some idea, and how to hide the cables.... The cable 25 to pin 53 confuses me... How does this connect?

I read that to be 'Thatcham approved' Fiat instruct dealerships to throw away all the shunt connectors and solder each connection? I also read that the installation document is deliberately vague, so that only registered installers can fit? I don't mind doing the soldering to be honest, but if I could get it installed/certified by an auto-electrician for £100 or so I would probably do that.....

Mine arrived yesterday too, think I'm fine with the diagrams because I've spent many years reading assorted car loom diagrams (and even making custom ones) plus removing iffy Toad alarms (they all seem to go wrong when they're 8 years old). I would suggest we did a joint 'howto' for how to fit the alarm but that wouldn't be too clever since if we show how to fit the alarm, conversely we'd also be showing iffy types how to remove it! (I suspect that's a little to do with the vague instructions too)

Only thing that's puzzling me is how to mount the roof sensors, from the diagram it looks like they're supposed to slot down the side of the courtesy light but the only way I could see to fit them was to slot them under the edge of the light's trim, which doesn't seem terribly secure.

Yes please don’t do the how to 😂 as you have said it would give instructions on how to remove! And free to view for everyone

The roof sensors do indeed slot under the dome light however I cut fine slots and fed the fin in that way it’s definitely secure
I also fed the wires through little holes into the head lining so everything looks factory

I actually used the wire taps and used that fury cable wrap to help keep things nice and secure

Some of the wires are very short and accessible working space is difficult like the wires going to obd port
Really thin wires! Easy to break and not much to work with!
