Just seen this on Facebook in my area. 500s being stolen.

One way to to stop this is to disconnect the two can wires going to the port this prevents any communication via the port often the way the car is started?
A simple hidden switch would do to turn off the Can line

Careful about posting too many details of how this is being done.

We don't want to encourage any copycats.

A search of the forum will, sadly, bring up several examples of member's cars being dismantled for parts whilst parked on a public road outside the owner's home.

not to mention people using pick up trucks to carry the car onto a truck and then drive off without ever having opened the door!

Just make sure you have good insurance and do not keep anything valuable inside the car, common sense really.
