Should I believe the weather forecast or should I believe the seaweed outside the back door ? We have actual snow, approx 10cm deep. Shall I go out in the snow and play silly bu***rs fitting my winter wheels or shall I stay in the warm and finish my coffee ? Hmm....coffee wins :)

I planned to fit my winters yesterday, but other things conspired against me.
Now today, snow sits around the car. A trolley jack will not travel through snow, now have a slight twinge in my back, silly boy. Will have to use the scissor jack, so I'll get colder and wetter.

Still snowing.

Changed over to my winter wheels and tyres today but stupidly managed to damage the thread on one of the rear hubs trying to get the lock bolt on, I’m presuming this is a tap and die job for a garage and is straight forward enough? Currently driving with 3 bolts on one wheel which ain’t ideal!

Well I quite literally left it to the last minute yesterday. Put the winter boots on our i10 and I'm very, very glad I did! Getting off our housing estate would have been a nightmare this morning without them.

As it happened, last winter, one of our Toyo Proxes winter tyres suffered a non repairable puncture (too close to the sidewall), so, I was only left with 3 Toyos. Well, our old Fiat 500 winter tyres saved the day as they are the same size as the i10 tyres. I've had four Vredesteins stored on the rims in our nice dark garage since we got rid of the our TA, so I had two Toyos fitted to the front and two of the Vredesteins taken off the Fiat steel rims and refitted to the rear alloys on our i10. The plan now is, to have the remaining two Vredesteins removed from the remaining Fiat rims and then hopefully, flog the 4 rims if anyone wants them.

Didn't have to go out today, but have an early run in the morning. I'll take the wife's Suzuki. It's got Michelin Cross-Climates, so no faffing with wheelbraces and jacks twice a year.
