Anybody?

i have had so many problems with my old fiat GP and this 2015 500 that i thought this forum would be more active, if the forum was bigger more people would keep fiats lol

(i got rid of the GP because of the time it took to identify and fix issues was the longest of any car i have owned,d to say i am a member of 3 forums and this one isn't the best for i'm afraid)

Most members come onto the Forum in the evenings....something to do with earning a crust ?? Have patience and someone more knowledgeable than me may answer your question. :)

sorry to sound harsh but there were many other busy threads, but my apologies no offence intended

I've watched the video DS, and the noise to me sounded like a heat sheild, or something, was loose. Hard to tell as the audio quality isn't the best. I can't help much more as my TA never made any untoward noises in 6 years of ownership, other than the very common reversing groan.
I don't recall reading any reports of "your" noise on the forum, which suggests it is unusual, and is probably why there haven't been many responses.
Being a 2015 car, it should still be under warranty, so a visit to a dealer seems the best course.

Thanks TrevC,
that's all i was looking for was confirmation from another owner that this is not normal
(yeah video audio ain't great, but the bass and vibration are accurate)

reason not been to dealer is they took the pi** with whats under warranty and what is not covered by it.

while conversing with the dealership, we told them the car was sitting for a fortnight to 3 weeks while on holiday.

that was considered(by fiat dealer) to be standing too long and could void warranty apparently according to them and they needed the car for the day to check.

So again, thanks for your two cents :)

You can use ANY FIAT DEALER for warranty work.

So dont be put off by I bad experience.

Just to check.. when you shut off the engine.. open the door and listen to the under bonnet noise...
Does it make a weird sound as you turn off the motor?

i have had a few fiats actually, all have had issues putting me off the dealers (particularly a GP and Arnold Clark lol).

Yes its a deep vibration , sounds more plastic than metal. sounds a little like a GP with lots of leaves in the heater blower :/

And thanks for your time, i just wanted some ammo before taking the missus to a dealer to talk about noises :).

Clearly, the Fiat dealership who told you that pile of turd, wants to take themselves into a corner and have a quiet word with themselves. I've never heard such utter carp in my life. It didn't bother one iota the Fiat dealership down South whom I bought a pre-reg 500 TwinAir off who rather conveniently chose not to disclose at the time of purchase that my 'new' car, was in fact already 14 months old and had been sat in their compound for months. It only had 9 miles on the clock. And what about the hundreds, indeed thousands of cars sat in car parks for weeks and months prior to sale? Doesn't seem to cause any warranty issues there does it?

When we had our TA, sometimes that car didn't move for several weeks at a time, but it still had issues fixed without issue under warranty.

Find another dealership, preferably one that knows what they're talking about.

See that's what i said,
they fobbed the missus off big time for some reason idk as i though warranty work would make the dealer money from fiat
(mechanics couldn't be bothered who knows)

shortage of non arnold clark dealers near here,
but good news an AC manager has said he will have it sorted (hes a friend of a friend), and the major service will be redone from scratch as the oil and coolant levels looked a little low for a car that should have just had an oil change lol

Thanks again to those whom took the time to read/comment on this thread

I recall seeing a fair bit of bad feedback on Arnold Clark on here over the years. If they persist with the argument they gave your wife, ask them to show where, in the warranty information, it states a maximum time that a car can stand idle without voiding the warranty.

I didn't see the vid, (not coming up) but I can say that TrevC is probably right as the heat shield on the turbo on our TA is slightly loose and rattles on occassion. I haven't gotten around to fixing it just yet though.
