Hi All!

Bit of a newbie here but looking for some advice!

I recently got a custom built 500 Lounge (1.2 Eco 69HP) and the usb port is really bugging me - I use it with the apple car play and my iPhone - the usb is fine and all registers and connect fine, but the moment i catch the usb slightly or when i drive and the phone slides a little bit, it tugs the usb cable (ever so gently) and throws out apple car play then it take a good couple of attempts to unplug and replug my phone in

It's like the usb slot is 'slightly too big' and means the usb can move around the slot a little and cause it to disconnect under slight pressure.

Anybody else's USB slot like this? / Know how to fix this?

Took is back to the dealer and they are going to replace it when the part comes in as it's brand new - but i fear it will just be the same problem...

Any help much appreciated!! :)

Thanks

Hi and welcome.

I have a funny feeling you've answered your own question. Personally, I can't see you are going to be in any a different situation even when Fiat do fit a new USB socket, it's still going to be in the same place and you'll still continue to 'catch it'. You might be 'lucky' and the new USB slot might be a little tighter, but I can't see it myself.

I use phone cradle for Satnav and instead of using 12v charger or extra long usb that came with it I've used stubby usb lead from an mp3 player on Panda. So it fits really tightly. If you can buy a cheap phone lead for not much that is slightly slimmer, it could solve.
