If someone could point me in the right direction if it's been mentioned before I'd be thankful.
After driving in the rain the car seems to start with a few issues, if it's on the motorway and your at a steady speed the car is fine it's normal urban driving when the problem happens, the car will start juddering and have a loss in power, usually the fault light will come on along side the engine management light, I have noticed that my air filter pipe leading into the box has snapped on the bracket which holds it to the front section under the bonnet, could it be water in the air filter or an electrical problem.
All help greatly appreciated.

First try, after driving in the rain check the air filter element to see if its wet?
My gut feeling is an electrical problem, have the fault codes that will have been stored read even though the MIL light may no longer be on, this will give a good clue where the issue lies. Check all connectors around the engine bay are dry(inside) and properly pushed together, if you're pulling them apart disconnect the battery first!
Repair the air intake pipe when possible.
Check the spark plug leads and plugs as these are especially sensitive to moisture ingress, one of our leads failed on our 59 plate car leading to misfire that was less noticeable at high speed but was very clear at low speed?
