Hi I'm new, have possibly posted this 1000 times as my web browser is being a pain and in need of help,
My 500 decided to leak everywhere.
We put water in the radiator and what went in came straight back out again, I've had a few suggestions on what it could be but I don't want to start buying parts and end up with the problem being something completely different. I've attached a picture of the leak and a picture of the area of where it is. The arrow, after closer inspection, is pointing to the pipe infront of the one that's pouring out. Any advice would be absolutely grand!
Thank you

It's tricly to tell.. but it looks like water is coming out of the thermostat housing. There's a gasket between the thermostat and the engine block, so first suggestion is that it's let go. The housing might also have cracked. It'll be a "remove and replace" job whichever it is, so I'd fit a new thermostat regardless. It's not a bad (i.e. expensive) job.

Hi. A commonn failing is a small plastic pipe joint in the area you have pointed out.

Give the hoses a wiggle..a broken one ( small diameter hose..?) Should become obvious

Charlie

Had another look, realised it was dribbling down to that area, gave the pipe that was leaking a squeeze and this happened!

Read the yellow
USEFUL INFO thread At top of 500 section

Covers this very issue... via the last link in it.

Thank you, at the time of posting I had no idea what was going on with the car so I would have been blindly searching! I'll check it out now!
