I was wondering if anyone could help.
Since taking delivery of my smooth mint fiat ( which i love ) i have been washing it regularly. However I have started to notice little black dots in the paintwork that simply won't come off no matter how hard i rub it with a sponge! Is this colour susceptible to this? Was wondering if anyone else had noticed it. I will try and attach a photo.
Thanks. Image1501857752.765633.jpg

Certainly worth trying clay. I bought an old MX5 a couple of years ago, and the dark blue paint was speckled with little spots of white paint. Even abrasive polish wouldn't shift it, but an hour's work with a clay bar got rid of it all, without damaging the paint.

That looks like iron contamination, if you get some iron fall out remover and then clay the car it should remove it all, have a watch of some YouTube videos of how to decontaminate paint work to give you an idea of what to do ?

That.

Fiat's are notorious for this; they are transported across Europe by rail and the contamination is fine particles of iron from the brakes on the train. They stick to the clearcoat and only become noticeable once they start to rust. If left, they can permanently damage the paintwork; it's a good idea to clay a new car as soon as you get it from the dealer.

Normal cleaning, even with abrasive polishes, generally won't remove it.

Iron fall out remover is basically oxalic acid; you can buy it, amongst other places, from most ship chandlers.
