Hey,

500 just back from the annual service incl. timing belt/MOT, 5 years old, 55k miles, 1.2 lounge.

Probably unconnected with the fact it's back from a service, and the two faults are probably also unconnected, but...

-Flat spot at just north of 5k RPM but pretty sure I have seen it at other points in the range... initial thought was a software update done during the service, but the fact it happens at other points in the rev range would probably rule this out. Dodgy batch of fuel?... fuel filter (never changed to my knowledge)?... plugs (done at the service before last I think, so 1 year / 11k ago.

-What sounds like a transmission type noise... a faint groan, only really apparent when changing from 3rd to 2nd allowing the engine to "brake". There is possibly some additional on/off throttle noise but could be dreaming that. Guess it could be a heat shield or something resonating, but seems more GB related... albeit the clutch and change both feel good. Engine mount maybe?

Advice appreciated :)

Yes, that feels like it could be a possibility...

Thanks for the input :)

Kind regards.
