hi,

i have a 2013 FIAT 500 pop and i have tried everything to get an AUX cord in the car! I've even tried buying a whole new radio which was costly at £140 to only then find out it didn't fit! its an absolute nightmare!:cry:

give tried fitting an AUX cable to the back of the radio with no luck as i believe its the wrong radio and this only works on previous radio models. anyway, i was just wondering if anyone has purchased a multimedia adapter (from fiat's uk accessories webiste, it wont let me add the URL as im new but its easy to find) and installed it? does it work? how did you install it? that kind of thing!(p.s my Fiat doesn't have blue and me)

thank you so much in advance, really wish i had looked at the car more closely before buying it! I've tried everything to get an AUX!:worship:

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I'm assuming you mean this one.

Fiat say on that webpage that it will do what you are asking.

You could always buy it online and try it. There's a 14 day no quibble money back returns policy, so if it doesn't work, send it back.

How much would it have cost Fiat to fit an aux socket, FFS? More than 30p??

You could try one of those FM transmitter doohickies. They're a lot better than they used to be, though not perfect (occasional interference and a tiny bit of background hiss, but pretty clear overall). I had got the silent-USB-stick trick to work (I do have the Bluetooth setup), so I do have an aux in. I use the FM transmitter sometimes though - the treble seems a bit clearer though there's less. It's a simple and cheap solution, anyway.

It's the opportunity cost of not selling the next model in the range to someone who thinks life wouldn't be worth living unless they absolutely definitely had a colour coded accessory socket in their car to plug their iPacifier into.

Judging by some of what gets posted here, that may be more folks than you might think.

On base model Panda 169's, not only did they not fit an internal 12V socket, they also left out the wiring so that it couldn't easily be added later. It must have cost them more to run two separate wiring systems on the production line, but they were looking to promote sales of the more expensive (and more profitable) models.
