So this "DARE" message has just started appearing on my dashboard where usually trip computer or media player info would be displayed. It seems to appear every second time the ignition is turned on. Nothing is connected via USB cable. While the "DARE" message is visible, no trip computer or media information will display.

Has anyone seen anything like this? I took a photo of it, but I'm not allowed to link to it because this is my first post (forum rules).

Thanks

Here's the photo (hopefully it works). There is no mention of a "DARE" message in the manual.

Dare in Italian can mean give or charge. Don't know if charge has meaning like to charge a battery or fill up .

Thanks all for your suggestions. So it seems to be related to the phone pairing. This morning I drove off (with "DARE" being displayed) and after a few minutes there was a beep through the speakers and the display changed to "CALL ENDED". After this the display returned to normal.

So I don't know what "DARE" related to, but the media system seemed to think I was on a call when I wasn't. I'll keep an eye on it, but I suspect if it happens again I'll be able to clear the message by starting/ending a call.

Cheers!

What you can do, is press the Windows symbol and go through the settings procedure and delete the phonebook and remove the pairing by resetting the hands-free system to default.
Then afterwards, pair your phone again, and copy your phonebook again.

Settings/User Data/Reset All
Then:
Settings/Pairing and Settings/User Data/Download Phonebook.

Good luck,
Mick.

Driving the 500 the other weekend and the misses had her iPhone connected playing music and I saw "FIRE" come up on the cluster, split second brown moment until I twigged lol

It means there's an amber light ahead, it's daring you to try your luck with the red light camera. That's what they mean when they say Italian cars have soul.
