General boot handle paint?

Hi guys,

I've noticed the inlaid '500' red paint on the boot handle holding on my wife's 500s is a bit patchy and would like to touch it up.
Any ideas on the colour and paint type to use. I'm pretty good with freehand but would like to know the colour/type to buy.

I would use a bit of model paint. You'll never find the exact code from Fiat anyway. Just buy 2 different reds if you can and mix to match if need be. Acrylic model paint can be wiped off easily and even when dry can be removed with window cleaner. It's the easiest option and should still survive a few years.
 
Ours is black, or perhaps dark grey - anthracite?
It's also a matt finish and doesn't feel like normal paint, more like some sort of chemical process as part of the original chroming. Could be that the whole handle is coated in the matt anthracite, then masked off before chroming.

Dunno really, just a feeling that the 500 isn't picked out in paint, rather the chrome is put on afterwards.

Maybe the red 500 logo is different?

Ours (Pop) is grey ish too
 
TBH, I haven't looked at the boot handles of other Fiat500s, so I couldn't say I've seen a red 500 logo.

I'll be keeping my eye out from now on.

Yesterday, I drove into town behind a Passadoble Red 500 - same colour as ours. :) Today, we drove back into town, and there was a white one in front of us.

I didn't look at either of the boot handles.

it just so happens, that our older daughter has a red 500, and we were round at her place yesterday.

Her 500 is a 14 plate 1200 saloon and a different colour of red to ours.
The boot handle has a RED 500 on it.

I looked closely and rubbed a finger nail on it and it's the same as ours - a matt finish sort of etched into the handle - rather than picked out in paint.
Interesting, I reckon.

I think (looking at a few while trying to buy my daughters) that S models have red, Sport Lounge and Pop have black (which fades to greyish). But that just may be what was on what I saw.
