Looking for advice on how to adjust the front wiper mech on a 2007 500. It seems to have slipped after a snowy night and now the wipers stop their cycle about 10% up the screen.

I can see the levers operating behind the plastic grille above the bonnet, but it's difficult to see which part of the mech has slipped. I presume it's at the motor but can't see where that is.

Can anyone help on where I need to loosen the mech to move it back down?

Many thanks, Kevin

Hi and welcome, can you put a picture on of where they stop?
Do they both stop in the same slightly up position?
Do they both go beyond where they used to at full sweep or bang up against the side of the screen?
The large black trim panel is only held by 3 push fittings and two at the very outer edges this guide for the suspension gives you some hints re the trim/wiper removal(at its start), https://www.fiatforum.com/500-guides/440891-front-shock-absorber-replacement.html
Whilst it should not work have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few mins?

Here's the bolts holding it in if this helps

Hi John,
Thanks for your reply. I tried to post a picture but the forum won't let me as I am new and only have this one photo uploaded. Can't post URL either as this is my first post.

The wipers appear to move over the correct sweep area. When you start the wipers they move together to the top without hitting the edge of the window, then sweep right to the bottom before rising slightly again and stopping.

I haven't tried disconnecting the battery will try that later.

I cannot remove the black grille without taking off the wiper arms is this right? I believe the arms are in the right place on their splines otherwise they would hit the bottom or side of the window.

Yes you have to remove the wipers and grill further down my suspension guide it tells you how to put it back too it maybe easier just to replace the mechanism with a secondhand unit given you're taking the trim and wipers off ? No messing about with it for hours off/on all bits back in place?
Take a look at the parked position on my guide too?

This MAY be a suitable item
