Go easy on the new brake discs and pads, they need time to bed in, so no sudden or hard braking for at least the next couple of hundred miles. Besides, if you drive efficiently, you won't need to stomp on the brakes much anyway.

As for the rest of it, well at least you have a car back that will be in better condition than it was and 'roadworthy' for at least another 12 months.

Definitely.

One thing. You know the heater dial, the one on the left with red and blue... is there a turning noise, like when you turn it, can you hear it turning? The other three dials are silent but for some reason this one isn't. Can't think if it's always been like this or if it was silent before? Just me being picky but curious.

Sorry guys, quick question re the brakes and pads. I know I'm Mot meant to brake hard or sudden braking for a few hundred miles, but online I'm reading that I should brake often to bed the discs and pads in.
I'm worried I do the wrong one and cock them up. Also worried going over pot holes in case I ruin the new shock absorbers etc

Might be worth you reading this:

As for potholes, well, not much you can do other than to avoid them as much as possible.

Avoiding potholes will also save you from knocking your tracking/alignment out.

Please stop fretting. Cars and their components wear out. All you can do is try and keep on top of the maintenance otherwise you'll be back to square one.

Just drive normally and avoid harsh braking if you can for the first couple of hundred miles or so. Braking when you don't need to is completely unnecessary and will just waste fuel.

500's are fun cars. They're meant to be enjoyed, not fretted over.

Attached photo is failures. Maybe I worded wrong. Have told garage to do works but just curious...
my rear shocks were kaput after 3 years let alone 6 years so you are doing fine = )
if you replace them with OEM shocks they will just be ruined again in 3 years.

Basically, my rule is, never replace broken parts with Fiat parts, and you should be fine!
