Hi all!

I own the 500 s for about 8 months. Love it, besides the robotised gear. My fuel consumption ranges between 6.9 to 7.1 per 100Km. Is that normal as I've seen people ranging from 6.5 to 6.8.

It's an AU delivered S so it can only be a 1.4.

If you want to improve fuel consumption start by driving as though you had no brakes, that and not starting the car immediately when you get in, but when you're actually ready to engage a gear.

I dare say a 1.4 is capable of well under 5.0 city with the right driver.

Also, if you have the Dualogic gearbox, drive it in manual mode whenever possible. In auto mode, the gearbox always selects a lower gear than is strictly necessary so you'll spend a lot of time in 2nd or 3rd gear when driving in the suburbs = destroys your fuel efficiency.

You can manually change up to a higher gear in Auto mode, but the computer will still tend to override your choice and downchange all the time as soon as you coast and slow down even slightly.

UFI, I do what you say since the beginning.

44sunset I do drive on the manual mode all the time and it's definitely better than auto in many ways.

I don't get close to 6.5. Never. I also drive with the sport button on all the times. It seems with the mode off, the car requires more power to go from 1 to second gear.
