I've gone to change spark plugs this morning and the second plug from the right has dropped behind, down a little gap. It's lying on something. I can see it, but can't get to it. Any ideas?

Also I have one plug lead that just will not come off. Are there any tricks to getting a stubborn lead off?

Push stuck plug lead ON and wiggle tends to start releasing at the top then brute force and wiggling , if you can see lost plug magnet might work or flick it off to one side and it will probably fall out the bottom. Just had a similar thing happen with my other car lost a thermostat bolt took some time to find on a hidden ledge .

I've got a magnetic tool but the gap is barely small enough to fit the spark plug in. Tool won't fit.

got a screwdriver with a magnetic tip..??

otherwise get UNDER car and see what you can spot / access.

did you get the stubborn lead off..?

Haven't tried yet as went to the Royal Albert Hall yesterday, but will try tomorrow. Will put the car on ramps and see if I can get to the plug. Will also have another try at the lead.

Plug is likely sat on top of the starter. From below you might be able to reach it. Do need to get it out as leaving it there can cause problems if it moves or shorts out some electrical connection.

As well as being an annoying rattle !!
