Yesterday in the evening i`ve found a lake under the car! I`m not sure is it oil from the engine or transmission, or from other car`s devices.

It`s transparent, doesn`t look like a usual oil from the engine, but it has no color - so it is not brake liquid i guess.
Besides - there is enough oil in the engine...

So did it come from the gearbox?

I`m pretty sure no one can give a diagnosis over a photo, but at least how much liquid is depicted on the photo? Will it be safe to go to the car repair garage by the car or should a call evacuator?
It there any opportunity to find out how much oil still remains in the geabox?

The question is stupid i know, but i`m a lawyer, not an mechanist :)

P.S. You know, in Russia say when simething flows out of the russian car means that something is still there :)

is this the dualogic version of the car? if it is it can be the dualogic fluid leaking from the gearbox. If that's the case you can drive it to the dealer but get the oil level checked asap as if the oil level runs out you will be stuck in gear!

Its hard to say, was the mark there before you parked there off another car?
Stick your finger in it and feel it to see if its oil and smell it, the sump on our 2009 rusted right through so could be leaking there? you will see evidence of oil on the underside of the car, use a bright light and look underneath for signs of fresh oil and go from there, don't leave it,, get it checked out.
Given the small amount of lost oil it should be OK to drive to a garage.

if it is truly transparent - then it could just be water = H2O

either from the aircon drain,
or even from rainfall,

checking the oil levels in anything other than the engine is quite involved..,

Charlie

It smells like oil and it tastes like oil :(

And it is deffinetly from my car, because when i moved it slightly, i`ve noticed several drops of oil more comming from beneath.

So i`m not sure if there is something left in there :)

Several years ago i was driving Lada 4X4 NIVA (i know that russian off-roaders are quitе popular in GB). I`ve changed oil in the drive unit (not sure of the right translation though), but the technichians forgot to close the oil cap, so everything flew out of it and a whole week i was driving absolutely dry car. Nothing happened by the way :)

English is not my native language and i`m not sure of the right translation of the technickal issues, so i uded google as a heper :)

In the repair shop they said that it was epiploon of the left semiaxis. They changed it, so far so good it is dry under the car.

We`ll see.

I'll take a guess at translation, left hand drive shaft to gearbox, oil seal?
