I have a broken drivers side door handle. Unlike the lucky people whose articulator was the only broken hardware, my complete handle assembly came out, leaving the small lock assembly in the door. I have the replacement part and my question is, does anyone know where I can find a video or how to take the old lock out and put it into the new handle, or has anyone had to do this? Thanks in advance for any info. I looked in the guides but did not see anything that addressed this particular problem.

Can't help re guide but if you need to remove all of the handle assembly you'll need to take the door card off the inside.

Is it specifically the lock that you need to take out and replace or do you need instruction on how to fit the handle. I've done 3 handles now, but not had to remove the barrel.

It is the barrel that I need help with. I have scoured You Tube and found 2 videos on replacing the handle that are fine however neither address pulling out the lock mechanism and then putting it in the new door handle.

It's a good video but in it he doesn't swap the lock to a new handle. Thank you for the video though.

Not sure how, when it clearly states "This procedure only applies to Panda models. On 500 models, the lock cylinder appears to be integral with the handle - consult a Fiat dealer" :bang:.

Current generation Haynes manuals are all but useless, and IMO not worth the paper they're printed on.

The attached diagram may be more helpful.

You can't see the pics but your pic is very similar to the Panda one so they could well use a similar type of fixing though once the broken part is off the car it should be easy to see how it goes together.

The barrel is easy. Prise out the circlip at the back by the black round part, put the key into the lock, turn the key and the barrel pulls out.

My video may show you better how to do the hinge.
