It`s boring here and i`ve decided to kill some time and share some experience for those who have`t read manual book and does`t know about some hidden storage places in their car.

1. First of all that storage space is mentioned in your manual book:

It is a huge storage space under your front passenger seat. I bet most of you knew that. However not all cars have it and i`m pretty sure that it is not connected to the complectation of the car - some lux colplectation does`nt have them, and some cars have subwoofer under that seat.

How to access it is depicted on that russian manual book. You may not look at those fancy letters but just look at the picture :)

2. Second one is a hidden small pocket for some useful documents in your glove box. It is not mentioned in any manual (as far as i know) and it was shown to me by a friend of mine in the fiat dealer`s shop.
That small pocket is only in pre-restyled versions - i guess it is in the cars older than 2015 and can be found only in the open glove boxes i think.

Anyway. It is located right in the middle of the top side of your glow box behind the small plastic latch. You have to use some force and pull the plastic cover out of the top side.

No photo right now, because my wife took the car, but i hope i managed to explain its location.

I think this info would be useful for you fellows, because it was quite a surprise for me.

Now i store my car`s documents there - it is pretty convenient and thief-safe :)

I've been using the passenger seat area for my satnav cradle and the 'hidden' flat draw thing above the open glove box for my locking wheel nut/satnav itself since I got the car in 2013. I do read manuals, and read the 500s one after getting it home. Useful since I got the TomTom with it and it had to go somewhere.

Did not get the under seat box, but the hidden compartment in the glove box roof is great - thanks :)

Managed to set off an airbag warning light opening my passenger seat so since repairing I haven't used it

On the flap
That is amazing. It is my wife’s 500 which she has had since new since 2010.
However I always fill it up and I have NEVER noticed the hook. I leave the key and cap hanging down.
Will try it out on the next fill up. Not often as after +8 years only 44600 kilometres on the clock.
Thank you, thank you.

Actually that is very useful as I had in my minds eye hooking the cap the other way round.
I have just been downstairs to the basement/garage and done a simulation.
I am just amazed to find this out after all this time.
Thank you. Thank you.

Just curious on the fuel cap - are there caps available without a lock ? I find it a hassle to always lock / unlock it. I remember fuel theft from the early 70s when there was the oil crisis and it may happen again when the reserves finally run out (30 years from now ?) but at the moment I don´t see a reason to lock the tank.

I think that on my BMW X5 That I have just sold, when the car was locked the “flap” over the filler cap was also locked.
Unfortunately I now have no way of checking.

As I recall even my 1970 Mazda 1200 Coupe had a locking petrol flap. Needed a key though, there was no interior cable-pull and the cap itself was built into the inside of the flap - at least you couldn't leave it behind at the petrol station!
