Hi all

I'm thinking about changing my 500 Lounge for a 500c Lounge. I'm just a bit worried about potential roof problems - please could anyone with a convertible let me know whether they have (or have not) had any problems with leaks/wind noise/electrical problems with their roof.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi;

Go for it! We have two 500C's and neither has had the slightest trouble with leaks despite living their lives outside through some pretty torrential rain over the three years we've had them.

They must be a little noisier than the hatchback (I imagine - I've never driven a hatch) due to the fabric roof but the only time wind noise makes itself felt is when the roof bars are fitted. Open top driving is inevitably a bit breezy but it isn't necessary to raise your voice to be heard.

Both roof's have operated faultlessly from day one. The main disadvantage of the cabrio is the small boot access but that's easily compensated by the ability to roll the roof right back and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine...

hi ,no worries with the roof. I have had 2 audi A4s and had serious problems with them and spent £1000s on them

Our roof is fine so far (1 year). No leaks, no technical problems. It is actually not that noisy, the inside insulation of the roof is pretty good.

The boot hatch is small indeed, as is the boot itself. But you can always fold back the seats, leave the roof open and drop something big in from above. :D

I second the "go for it!"

Agree with all the comments above. I was a bit apprehensive before my other half got hers 18 months ago, but folks here reassured me and no problems so far on our 2015 example.

Agree that the boot is limited, but that's expected on a small cabrio. More of a nuisance is the inevitable absence of a rear wiper - that rear screen gets messy quickly in wet weather.

When we got our Lounge, for similar money there were pre and post facelift models. We went for the facelifted version as it has manual a/c instead of the potentially more troublesome climate control of the earlier cars.

Happy hunting!
