So nearly a month ago now, I ordered a Sole Yellow Lounge with the grey cloth interior. The car arrived last week with the ivory steering wheel and dash!

They've been trying to find me a new one and I've spoken with several dealers but have been told the wait to get one made is 4-6 months. Which is impossible for me.

So, my options are- take the Sole Yellow with the white interior.
OR get a red series 3 model (2015) with a discount.

Since the yellow was my preference, I'm leaning towards that but I can't make up my mind if the white and yellow is an ugly combo.

What are your opinions? I'm useless at deciding things on my own!

It's a purely subjective choice and only you can decide - you have to live with it. Speaking personally, I would not only take the yellow with the ivory interior but would prefer it. Far from being ugly, the combination looks wonderfully retro and the the ivory gives the car a marvellous open, airy ambience, even a black one like mine.

If you wanted a yellow one then take the yellow one! Plus you get the later car with all the additions presumably? Personally I'd agree that the white interior suits the retro look but it's always going to be a personal choice.

Colour choice is always personal; there's no right or wrong, which is why Fiat offer a choice of colours in the first place.

Not getting what you ordered is one of my own pet frustrations with modern life; I'd be pushing for some sort of offer from the dealer, whatever my choice now.

If you want a comment based on the purely practical aspects of colour choice, from personal experience I can tell you that Fiat's solid red shows scratches rather easily and is prone to stone chips - not helped by the primer being white. I've no experience of the yellow, but I'd expect it to be better in both regards, and perhaps easier to maintain the finish as a result.

:yeahthat:

PS I ordered a new car (non-Fiat) a year ago, still waiting...that's Australia for you.

Other than the ivory interior showing dirt more I personally think it makes the car. I have a 500f 1970 model which has a white steering wheel and instrument cluster that the Ivory reminds me of. We have a series 4 on order hopefully landing at the end of the month (ordered in May!)and chose the Ivory interior with tabacco leather seats which looks really retro. I'd ask the dealer for some incentive to make your mind up i.e free servicing for warranty period or cash off! Either way I hope you enjoy what you end up with.

If you are considering taking the yellow car, go see some other dealers and get a couple of brochures for a fiesta a polo and etc then go down to the fiat dealer umming and erring and being very unsure and make a big deal about it not being what you wanted. Make a big deal of the brochures you have and how they could get you a car you do want much quicker then 4-6 months.
Finally follow it up with well if I do take the yellow car and seeing as it isn't what I wanted what sort of extra deal can they arrange.

basically from you're point of view you're in a good position with choice while they face a sale falling through of you walk away and all because they got it wrong.
They will be desperate now to keep your business

I mean, personally if I really wanted a colour, I'd get that colour. But I'm so indecisive anyway.

It's the next day now - did you choose?

Pro tip for choosing: Flip a coin.
While the coin is still in the air, you usually know which outcome you are hoping for. The result is more than often not important, it's the gut feeling you get the instant you hear the flick of the coin and see it spinning, that helps you choose.
