I have just had a gearbox overhaul as the bearings went on my 500 at just 49K. I have noticed on my first journey home from the garage that it did not seem as responsive/powerful. Also very slow on the take off at roundabouts and especially noticeable on hill starts....almost a bit of clutch slippage and the 'bite' if definitely higher and have to give more gas to get a response.
I assumed that the clutch may need a minor adjustment. However when i told the garage that did the work they said that they never touched the clutch. That the clutch is not adjustable and 'self leveling', it did not need air bleeding or anything. I am no mechanic, but all i know it that the car does not 'feel' the same to drive anymore.
What to those with technical knowledge suggest?
Its a 2011 1.2 lounge start stop model.
Thanks

Last year my 2010 1.2 Sport suffered similar problems. I had my gearbox replaced after gaining a knocking noise in 1st and 2nd.

A few days later I had to have a new clutch as my old one was slipping really badly. The clutch itself wasn't worn at all, it had what seem like grease or maybe gearbox oil covering the friction pads.

The garage weren't having me on as they replaced my clutch FOC.

Sorry to say it sounds like you might need your clutch looked at and maybe even replaced.

The main shaft front bearing fails and the shaft does not stay within the seal centrally causing gear oil to get past and fouls the clutch. If the gearbox is out the clutch should be checked and replaced accordingly, it's common practice. If a genuine bearing has been used then it's been superseded from a ball bearing to roller bearing type
