The TA has been with us now for 5 or 6 years so from a long term reliability perspective I was wondering are there any highish mileage cars out there? There should be a few with at least 70K. I'm at 20K after 2 years! Anyone?

At 2.5 years and less than 10000 miles up mine's more likely to die of boredom!

If it's had a problem it's related to hot weather. Attempts to take off quickly on days of 35C+ (AC on or off) often result in a splutter, requiring a declutch, hard rev and a second try. Whether this is down to the engine, management or fuel supply I have been unable to determine.

saw one at a garage on EBAY with 91K,
no apparent issues:)

I can half-stall mine:eek: take a bit of coaxing to comeback cleanly:(

still very happy with it though,
just coming up to 3 years now and 23K, changed jobs and got another FIAT in the last 18 months..so mileage hasn't changed much since then..;)

It's still my m-way car though(y)

Twin Air Plus
105 000 km -/ 65 000 miles. Bought car in March 2011.

No engine problems so far, but climate condenser replaced under warranty, left and right ball joints, 3 battery's to solve the S&S issue under warranty, boot wiring loom and the drivers door handle hinge replaced.

Annoying is the also well known clutch noise, mostly on reversing and if cold, but I can live with.

The engine is really excellent.
My feeling is, its becomes better, as longer in use (fuel consumption and dynamic improves constantly).

Just rolled over 50,000 miles..

Running strong and good mpg.

2 indicator bulbs ( lost their yellow ) and 2 front tyres in 6.5 years. :)

Twinair62 welcome by the way. 150k amazing for such a small engine. And the Punto heavier than cars engine normally goes in. You've obviously looked after it then.....:)

Drive with mechanical respect, change the oil "often"( six months or less ) and most petrol engines will last a very long time.

Thanks for the welcome, yes I try to look after it, it's used 80miles a day for my commute and drives well you couldn't tell it's done high mileage. I'm looking forward to getting it past 200k I change the oil every six months and get a full service yearly.
It's only averaging 43mpg though:/ it was getting 46 until I put the 17inch punto sporting wheels on it and fiat roof bars.

6 speed gearbox? Gives the motor an easier life :)
