Hi,

I'm new here. I just ordered a Fiat 500 Lounge TA 85hp. The dealer I bought it from didn't have any Lounge spec 500s in the showroom so I haven't had a chance to sit into one yet. (I test drove the Pop spec).

I'm 6ft 2in and I've read that the fixed sunroof means less headroom. Is this true?

Anyone here of similar height with a 500 Lounge spec car?

Welcome to the forum! You should be fine, I'm 6.1 and have the electric roof which is lower again and no problems, you can lower the seat too. When I ordered my S I had the same concerns and tracked down another 500 with an electric roof and tested it first to allay any fears! I'm sure you could go to another dealer and find one to test.

Overall height isn't the full story - people long in the body but shorter in the leg tend to be more critical for headroom when sitting in a car. However, the 500 is pretty generous for headroom, and you shouldn't have any problem even with the blind shut.

I too am 6'2" and must be long in the body as suggested. I have sat in a new lounge and found the headroom to be insufficient. There also seemed to be less headroom in the standard roof compared to our 2013 model Colour Therapy.

I'd suggest calling ahead and making a trip to a dealer who does have a lounge to be certain it meets your needs.

I am 6ft 3 no worries at all. I tried the opening roof and noticed headroom is much less so i did not order the opening roof one.

The fixed roof is fine. I rented a Lounge in England once and the headroom was perfectly sufficient.

The opening (electric) roof which our car has, I find there is only just enough headroom, especially for the passenger (no height adjust on the passenger seat). The seats have to be reclined. If you like to drive or ride upright, then the opening roof is to be avoided. I prefer the wider effect of the fixed roof anyway. Both me and my partner are not much over 6ft but are the long-back short-leg proportion.

I didn't think too much about this thread until I was at the dealership, erm buying a new 500.

I currently have a 59 Plate Lounge with fixed glass roof and the headroom is more than fine for me in driver and passenger seats. The 2016 Lounge with fabric upholstery is also fine for me but slightly less so. However, there seems to be extra bolstering in the leather option which means my head is above the fabric sunshield when sat in the non-height adjustable passenger seat.

I'm only 5'11" and prefer to sit fairly upright in a car so this may be part of the issue.

I may have sold you a car today!
Unless two people coming out a cha cha azure 59 plate lounge ordered a certain special new 500 today without leather so they can fit in the passenger side, haha

Simon, indeed it was us. We weren't originally going to consider the local franchise after some bad sales experiences in the past which I'm quite happy to pm you about if it helps the team.

You were easy to deal with and knowledgeable about the car and finance so convinced us otherwise. No pressure on you now to deliver the car is there . . . . ?:p

Fire away with a pm. Interesting to see what my colleagues are/ have been up to.

I'm going to order the car tomorrow so expect an email with an update.
When you pick it up, I'll bring my wee ancient punto in for you to see, didn't realise you guys were on here and into your fiats. ?
