Ho there
ive owned a couple of cars where the only thing ive had to do to add cruise control is fit a switch.
Does anyone know if my mad Italian wiring loom should have been fitted with the cruise control cabling, and if so what else do i have to buy to get it working?

You can get a kit that plugs into the canbus and has a stick that goes on the steering column (aftermarket), is about 400 quid though, I think someone on here has fitted it, was going to do it myself but it's a bit pricey for a car that I rarely take on long motorway trips as I have another car that has cruise control for that.

You'll have to go for a third party aftermarket product if you want cruise control. A pity; lots of folks use the 500 for longer distances and IMO Cruise control would certainly be a 'nice to have'. Not being able to specify it as an option is one of the many things which makes the current 500 show its age.

Start by having a look at the Conrad Anderson website; be aware that there are differences between different model years (the latest Euro6 cars do not use the same ECU) and also between manual and automatic cars.

About £400 if you do it yourself; another £150 if you have it fitted. There's also the usual caveat about notifying your insurance as it's a modification; this may or may not increase your annual premium, and so may be an additional cost you'll need to take into account.

Thanks jrkitching

Thats a bit too expensive for me at the moment but worth knowing
i shredded my right achilles tendon last year and keeping my foot in one position for too long is still painful, so if it doesnt get any easier at least i can get round it

Cheers
